Yes, Bill Murray Will Be Back For The New GHOSTBUSTERS

Last May, while speaking with IndieWire, Bill Murray confirmed his willingness to appear in Jason Reitman's forthcoming Ghostbusters, and it wasn't terribly surprising. After all, he'd returned for Paul Feig's 2016 take on the property (appearing as a character who definitely wasn't the Peter Venkman we all know and love), and with just about everyone else set to return - including Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts and Dan Aykroyd - it felt all but guaranteed that Reitman and company would bring him into the fold.

We never quite got an official confirmation on that, but today that changes with a new report over on Vanity Fair, who spent time with Murray on the set of Reitman's upcoming sequel. According to Murray, "The [Ghostbusters] script is good. It’s got lots of emotion in it. It’s got lots of family in it, with through lines that are really interesting. It’s gonna work.”

Again, this isn't a shocking development, but should put to rest any lingering concerns any hardcore Ghostbusters fans might have about Murray not being involved with the film, which'll be along before you know it - this thing's well on its way to hitting its July 10th release date (which, by the way, probably means we're gonna start seeing a bit more of what this sequel has in store for us; if there ain't a big-ass Super Bowl trailer, I'll be shocked).
