Walton Goggins To Hunt, And Hopefully Kill, Mel Gibson In FATMAN

It's a Christmas comedy!

So, here's the news: according to Deadline, Walton Goggins has joined the cast of Eshom and Ian Nelms' Fatman, a Christmas comedy starring (you guessed it) Mel Gibson as (you guessed it) Santa Claus. Goggins will play Skinnyman, a hitman who gets hired by a 12-year-old boy to take out Ol' Saint Nick after receiving a lump of coal in his stocking. Man. Those last two sentences contained a lot of information. Please take a moment to absorb all that we have learned before moving on, should you need to.

Welcome to paragraph two. It is here that we will point out the obvious: Mel Gibson's ongoing return to the silver screen is, to put it mildly, a divisive one, with some folks willing to forgive and forget Gibson's past misdeeds (which, in case you're just joining us, involving doing and/or saying a number of unhinged and astoundingly racist things) and others who no longer wish to see him on screens at the multiplex. I encourage all of you to work through your thoughts and feelings on that in the comments section provided below.

We have now arrived at paragraph three. It is time to point out that Fatman is being produced by Rough House Pictures, the production company behind HBO's brilliant Vice Principals and the recent Righteous Gemstones, and that filming is already underway, with an eye towards an arrival during the 2020 holiday season. Stay tuned for more on Fatman as further updates become available. This is the end of the post.
