Here’s When You Can Expect To Watch This Year’s Biggest Disney+ Shows

While making their Disney+ victory lap during an earnings call today, Disney CEO Bob Iger also spoke briefly about the future of some of the streaming service's most anticipated shows. We've known that the Marvel shows Falcon & Winter Soldier and Wandavision will be debuting on the service this year, as well as the second season of The Mandalorian. Now we have more specific information on the front, albeit not as specific as a date or anything like that.

The first Marvel Studios show, Falcon & Winter Soldier, will air on August 2020 on the streaming service. The Mandalorian Season 2 will follow in October, and we'll get to see Wandavision in December. I'd say mark your calendars, but it's a lot of work to circle an entire month.

And that's not all. Iger also went on to suggest the possibility of Mandalorian spin-off series, because it's not like they already shelved a Star Wars show for being too similar to The Mandalorian. During the earnings call, Iger still assured that Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan series and Diego Luna's Cassian Andor spin-off are still in the works, as well as "seven other Marvel series in various stages of development." He didn't say which months we can expect all of those though.

Remember, Iger mentioned all of this off-handedly while bragging about the 28.6 million subscribers Disney+ gained in its first three months. The company is trying to convey that "Disney+ has been a rousing success, and will continue to be as long as we have a Marvel or a Star Wars every 2-3 months," and it's difficult to bet against them. Even if we all deactivate in between now and when Falcon & Winter Soldier arrives in August... we'll be back in August and it looks like the service will have new shows pretty consistently from there on after.
