Tom Hanks Is Once Again The Captain In The First GREYHOUND Trailer

Y'know, up until about five minutes ago, I would have happily told you that I'm all set on WWII movies for a while. Like vampire movies or Robin Hood movies or movies wherein Johnny Depp is part of the cast, the WWII genre just doesn't seem to hold any further appeal to me. Y'all keep watching 'em if that's what you're into (I'm not here to tell you how to live your lives!), but, speaking only for myself, I'd have zero problem sitting out the next half dozen of these.

And yet...

This is the first trailer for Aaron Schneider's Greyhound, based on C. S. Forester's novel The Good Shepherd. When the trailer and poster arrived in my inbox, I rolled my eyes at the fact that this is yet another WWII movie...but then I noticed that Tom Hanks isn't just starring in the film - he also wrote the screenplay. Furthermore, that trailer's actually kind of exciting. Am I mostly over the WWII genre for the time being? Yes. But do I want to see Tom Hanks play Battleship with actual battleships? Hell, I'm not gonna turn my nose up at that. 

Here's an official plot synopsis:

"In the early days of WWII, an international convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by captain Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) in his first command of a U.S. destroyer, crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi U-boats."

Greyhound won't arrive for a few months, but I'm penciling it in as something that might be worth escaping into an air-conditioned movie theater for this summer. How about y'all? Any interest here?
