Richard E. Grant Continues To Be In Everything, Now Including LOKI

The Disney+ show gets another exciting cast member.

After growing used to getting three Marvel movies a year, I am heartbroken that 2020 is only giving us two. And one of them is a prequel (or at least partly a prequel, who knows). Normally I would be rioting in the streets because my life revolves around this stuff. How dare they only give me two Marvel movies? What did I ever do to them?

But then I relax because instead of a third movie, 2020 is giving me two Marvel Disney+ series. Loki, the subject of this very passionate article is not one of them, but that’s okay. I will survive on Falcon and the Winter Soldier in August and WandaVision in December.

Loki is so far away, in fact, that it is still casting. According to The Wrap (and first reported by Discussing Film) fan favorite Richard E. Grant has joined the cast as someone secret. Grant already joined the Fox side of the Marvel universe in Logan, but we all know to ignore that continuity and have moved on with our lives.

In addition to Tom Hiddleston, that means Loki’s cast now includes Grant, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. We don’t know much about it, except that it presumably takes place after Loki disappears in the middle of Avengers: Endgame and will tie in with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. We will apparently see the series sometime in 2021. If we see 2021.
