State Of BIRTH.MOVIES.DEATH.

A word on where we’ve been and where we are going.

At the risk of severe understatement, things have been crazy lately. We are all living through something severe and unprecedented together, and sometimes it helps to pause for a bit before taking an additional step.

You’ve probably noticed BMD has been quiet for the last week. It’s not that we didn’t want to update the site. I found it particularly rough not commenting on the amazing news that Rosario Dawson will play Ahsoka Tano in THE MANDALORIAN season two, for instance. But frankly, the fate of BMD was not decided, and I wanted our last post - if it was to be our last post - to be the announcement of a two million dollar relief fund for furloughed Alamo Drafthouse staff.

Luckily, that will not be our last post. Things are going to be a little different for a while around here - slower, and with a greater emphasis on Alamo Drafthouse news along with regular news stories. We’re down to a skeleton crew, though.

Until we all get back on our feet, we will do what we can to keep this place going. Believe it or not, we have some exciting plans headed your way in the near future that I can’t wait to share. Just keep in mind, there are some news stories we simply won’t have the bandwidth to cover, particularly any involving the remake of THE CROW, UNCHARTED, or the SPAWN movie Todd McFarlane wants to make. We’ll post stories about the Snyder Cut but only if they are totally unbelievable and unsourced.

In short, BMD took a breather, but we are back. Not all the way back. Back with significantly less back. But back enough that we can still have some fun around here and talk about movies while trying to mitigate the chaos reigning outside. I apologize for the interruption in regular programming and hope you’ll join me for what comes next.
