May 11, 2020: The Day Cate Blanchett Took Over Cinema Completely

There will not be any more movies. But they keep trying to pretend otherwise in Hollywood, setting things up just in case. In that spirit, Cate Blanchett is having quite a day.

First, Collider reports that Cate Blanchett will join Jennifer Lawrence in Adam McKay’s upcoming Netflix film, DON’T LOOK UP. The film is about two scientists who find out a meteor will destroy the earth in six months and try to warn people. I highly doubt it will end up being an angry, darkly comic film with timely messaging about our current government. No way.

In addition to that, Blanchett has also joined the cast of James Gray’s ARMAGEDDON TIME, which is about two scientists who find out a meteor will destroy the earth in six months and try to warn people. No, I don’t actually know what ARMAGEDDON TIME is about other than it takes place at the Kew-Forest School Donald Trump went to. Maybe Donald Trump is even in the movie, who knows. Maybe Blanchett is playing Trump.

And this is all on top of that Eli Roth BORDERLANDS movie which they still claim isn’t a prank of some kind. I seems like a win to me. If every movie suddenly stars Cate Blanchett, we really could be doing a whole lot worse.
