The Winchester Mystery House has long been an object of fascination for me, the story of one woman (Sarah Winchester, eccentric heiress of the Winchester rifle fortune) who, according to the gleeful press of the time, believed she was haunted by the ghosts of those killed by her husband's invention and built a sprawling, chaotic mansion with the supposed aim of trapping the vengeful spirits who plagued her. 

It's a no-brainer concept for a movie, and several books have been written about Winchester and her house, as well. And now Helen Mirren is starring as Sarah Winchester in the Spierig brothers' Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built, alongside Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook and Angus Sampson.
