Billie Eilish’s NO TIME TO DIE Theme Song Is Titled “No Time To Die”

When it was announced that Billie Eilish would be singing for the In Memoriam segment of the 2020 Academy Awards, there was speculation in some circles that this would be the debut of her song for No Time To Die, which would have been not only remarkably on the nose but also an unlikely promotion for a forthcoming movie and a song which would hope to follow in the footsteps of Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On The Wall” and Adele’s “Skyfall” by taking home the Oscar for Best Original Song at next year’s ceremony.

In the event, Eilish maintained the Bond connection with a haunting version of “Live And Let Die” songwriter Paul McCartney’s “Yesterday”, embedded below for your listening pleasure.

The choice of a slow ballad may well be significant given that Eilish remarked later on the red carpet that the No Time To Die song was also a ballad, but she didn’t share any further details.

All will shortly be revealed: today it was announced on social media that not only is the theme song titled “No Time To Die” but it will be released globally tomorrow, February 13th 2020, at 4pm Pacific Time, maximizing its media coverage while costing fans across the Atlantic some sleep and presumably hitting that key Valentine’s Day music-buying market.
