Alamo Drafthouse and Rolling Roadshow's Camp Kaboom returns this May for another year of adult summer camp hijinks – and this time (dramatically tilts sunglasses down), it's serious. The annual event formerly known as Sleepaway Camp is proud to debut Alamo's newest Quote-Along experience: Macgruber! It's a very big year for fans of the Grube, between this new Quote-Along (coming soon to an Alamo near you!) and the recent announcement of the upcoming – and extremely long-awaited – Macgruber TV series.

Touted as "the most explosive weekend of your damn life," the fifth annual Camp Kaboom is getting action-packed this year with three days and two nights of ass-kicking screenings and outdoor activities, a "fucked up cobra's nest of dance parties," and so much more. Just please be mindful of the throats you rip along the way. "What better way to debut the Macgruber Quote-Along than an outdoor screening with live explosions?” says Henri Mazza, Camp Kaboom’s Head Counselor and Alamo Drafthouse’s Vice-President of Content, Sponsorship, and Events. “Well, how about an entire weekend where we take over a summer camp and host MACGRUBER-themed games? And yes, one of those games will be a celery relay race.”

Camp Kaboom is held at a real-life summer camp, Camp Champions, out in Marble Falls, Texas. This year's sleepaway camp will take place over Mother's Day weekend, from Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10 – so I guess we know what your mom's getting this year. During the day, campers can participate in a litany of solo and team-oriented events, including canoeing, archery, dodgeball, The Blob, swimming, rope swings, wall-climbing, a Pirate Ship Ropes Course, Sloshball, arts ‘n farts ‘n crafts (but of course), and makin' and chompin' on s’mores.

After tiring themselves out with various activities, campers will be treated to evening screenings of action flicks projected on Rolling Roadshow's signature giant inflatable screen. Food and beverages (including, yes, beer) will be served in a real-deal mess hall, and campers will sleep in actual old school cabins (and they will like it). Proceeds from Camp Kaboom will support the Austin Food & Wine Alliance’s vibrant grant program for chefs, farmers, artisan producers, and nonprofits by funding projects focused on culinary innovation. As Austin’s premier culinary nonprofit, AFWA is dedicated to fostering awareness and innovation in the Central Texas food and beverage community.

Tickets are now available through the official Camp Kaboom website, and if you can't make it out to Marble Falls this year, you'll be able to catch the Macgruber Quote-Along at your local Drafthouse following its premiere at camp.
