The New Optimism: COWBOYS & ALIENS Teaser Poster Is Great

Direct from those dyed-in-the-wool fanboys at Yahoo! Movies, the teaser poster for Cowboys & Aliens shows off just the hint of the film’s mix of scifi and Westerns. I also like that the teaser poster sort of gives you an idea of the film’s tone; when I saw footage at Comic Con I was surprised to see that both the Western and the scifi elements are being played totally straight - there’s no tongue in cheek stuff (at least in what I saw). That’s reflected in the image.

What will the trailer bring? We’ll find out at the end of the week, and if you’re the OCD counting type, here’s a countdown clock that tells you when the trailer will be released (it’s going to be attached to the new Harry Potter, so lots of people should see it).
