Our Daily Trailer: CLIFFHANGER

Give us this day our daily trailer! Snow Week concludes as Sylvester Stallone has no fear of heights in the classical music soaked CLIFFHANGER trailer.

Even so many years later it's surprising that Cliffhanger is good. Sylvester Stallone is one of Hollywood's most hit or miss stars, and his hits have been rarer and rare since the 80s. Renny Harlin's career has been in freefall for years - he's now doing episodes of Burn Notice - so it's easy to forget that he has an incredible eye for the big screen.

Together they made a film that is thrilling and fun. It largely works because of the practical stunts; if the movie had been made a few years later it would be crammed with digital stunt people. But Cliffhanger is filled with the real thing, including an aerial stunt that I believe is still listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the costliest ever.

Plus the movie has an amazing cast: Michael Rooker, John Lithgow, Paul Winfield and... Janine Turner, who is shockingly good. Cliffhanger isn't a guilty pleasure, it's just a pleasure.

This trailer, by the way, is great. No dialogue, no voice over. Just Mozart's Requiem in D Minor. Perfect!
