Three Guys Who Might Direct FAST & FURIOUS 7

Not an exciting list of names.

El Mayimbe at Latino Review thinks he knows who the top three director contenders are for Universal's seventh Fast & Furious film. With Justin Lin out of the picture and a start date just around the corner, the film needs a director who can arrive late in development and put a sellable film together super fast. In other words, they are not looking for badasses.

The first name is Jeff Wadlow, director of the upcoming Kick-Ass 2 and the first Never Back Down film.

Next comes Brad Furman, who directed The Lincoln Lawyer, a good actor's film but hardly an action entry.

And finally we have the unfortunately named Harald Zwart. His is a longer, more eclectic resume, having directed stuff like One Night at McCool's, and Agent Cody Banks. Most recently he did the Karate Kid remake.

So no marquee type guys, but Universal has already decided that production of Fast & Furious 7 isn't really about delivering a kick ass film so much as it's about delivering any film at all. I'm hoping for Jeff Wadlow, but I'm also not kidding myself about it mattering much.
