The Director Of DEADPOOL 2 Is Resurrecting KUNG FU

They say that all properties will eventually be remade, and they are right. 

According to Deadline, Universal has purchased the rights to the 1972 TV series Kung Fu, and has lined up David Leitch (co-director of John Wick, director of both Deadpool 2 and Hobbs & Shaw) to helm the project. It is unknown at this time what the film will be about, but Deadline's got a fairly decent synopsis for those unfamiliar with the source material:

"The original ABC series starred David Carradine as a master martial artist who fled China after his master was murdered. He wandered the Old West helping the downtrodden and weathering rampant racism while eluding assassins trying to kill him. He was a peaceful man until provoked, which happened at least once an episode."

So, yeah, we're probably gonna see this one receive a few, ah, modern upgrades on its way to the silver screen, with the added benefit of whatever head-smashing action Leitch brings to the table. This is, by the way, not the only martial arts-related film Leitch has in the works: Deadline's report also says our dude is also lined up to direct a remake of Bruce Lee's Enter The Dragon for Warner Bros. 

Nothing further to report at this time - we don't know who'll star in it, when it'll be out, or who's writing the script - but we'll keep you informed as further updates roll in. Unless, of course, you wish to receive no further updates on Kung Fu, in which case we will not be providing you with further updates and will probably delete this post. The choice is yours.
