IRON MAN 3’s Post-Credits Scene Spoiled

Or at least one of them has been spoiled.

This is all spoilers, so turn away if you'd rather not know the contents of a small post-credits clip.

Latino Review has the scoop on at least one of Iron Man 3's post-credits sequences, straight from a French screening of the film. Here's what you can expect:

It starts with a close shot of Tony Stark on a couch talking about his various traumas, obviously he’s talking to someone, as if he was seeing a shrink, the tone of the scene is light and supposedly funny. Then we discover that the person he’s talking to is Bruce Banner/Mark Ruffalo, who fell asleep because of Tony’s boring story. Tony remarks that Banner has been sleeping during the most part of his story and yells at him, and Banner just mumbles and says “You know, I’m not that kind of doctor!” Then Tony recalls another memory and resumes his monologue, and then we see Banner starting to fall asleep again.

It's a shout out to the Science Bros fanbase for sure, and it sounds cute and funny. But is it the only sting we're getting?

Back when the first Iron Man screened for press, Marvel hid the Nick Fury sting. In the films since then the studio has played an interesting game with these stings, keeping some of them secret until the film actually opens. In the case of The Avengers they had two stings, one of which they shot after the premiere. Could there still be another post-credits bit that's being held back? We've heard lots of rumors that Iron Man 3's post-credits sequence will tie into Guardians of the Galaxy. And I've heard very reliable reports that indicate there's an Iron Man 3 post-credits sting featuring quite a different line-up of characters.

Here's my theory: this is the fun mid-credits stinger, which Marvel is happy to make known in advance. But there's another, more Phase Two-oriented credits piece, which they won't reveal until Iron Man 3 is in theaters. And that piece will begin bridging the gap to space.

We'll know the truth in just a couple of weeks.
