New INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS Trailer Reveals A Folk Singer And His Cat
Failure, bitterness and folk music are my jams, so I'm pretty excited for Inside Llewyn Davis, the new film from the Coen Bros. Reviews out of Cannes say this movie is about a small-time folk singer in the big New York City folk explosion of the early 1960s who never quite makes it - shades of David Chase's underappreciated Not Fade Away.
This new trailer shows off more of the movie, and I'm really taken by what we see of Oscar Isaac, a guy I've long hoped to break through. He has a young Pacino thing going on here, with his soft New York accented 'R's, and I love his big expressive eyes. Also - that cat!
As we face the opening of The Lone Ranger, a horrible movie that encapsulates so much of what is wrong with big Hollywood movies today, it's nice to have something like this on the horizon.
