Spike Lee’s OLDBOY Gets Pushed Back A Month

Josh Brolin's going to stew in that room a little longer than expected.

Spike Lee's Oldboy remake has inspired a wide spectrum of opinions from people who either have faith in the legendary filmmaker's ability to add enough flair, originality, and faithfulness to justify remaking Chan-wook Park's beloved original and those who do not. It will be very interesting to see who is right when the film finally comes out.

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a bit longer than expected for that day to arrive. The Wrap has just reported that Spike Lee's Oldboy will come out November 27, a little over a month from its previous release date, October 25. So far, no word has been offered on why this change was necessary. Perhaps producers felt the film's themes fit Thanksgiving better than Halloween.
