AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY Trailer #2 Drowns In Familial Bliss

Meryl Streep ingests an animal's fart.

When I saw the first trailer for August: Osage County, I was suspicious of its status as an Oscar-baiting dramedy about a family full of hateful people who scream at each other. Since then I have seen Bug and Killer Joe and no longer have this hang-up.

Though I must admit, this new trailer for the film still raises red flags, especially with its faux-inspirational, acoustic "we are all in it together" song cut. While filled with witty burns, August: Osage County does not seem as gloriously sleazy and fun as William Friedkin's Tracy Letts adaptations. Still, with a cast like this, it's a hard one to resist. And by that I am referring mostly to Dermot Mulroney.

August: Osage County recently played TIFF to mixed reviews. We'll get a look at it November 8.
