This Is How The World Ends: Aronofsky’s NOAH Trailer
It ends in a lot of CGI.
I love Darren Aronofsky. A lot. I think he's one of the best filmmakers going, and I believe he's made a number of masterpieces, and yes I include The Fountain in that list. And it's because of Darren Aronofsky's name that I didn't turn off the trailer for Noah with disgust.
What will the movie be? I don't know, but the trailer is selling a pixelpit of meaningless proportions, a cluster of CGI coming together in shots that look beyond stock. There are hints at big fantasy Biblical weirdness, and I'm excited for more of that, but a lot of what this trailer shows off turns me off.
I'm rooting for you, Darren, but that last shot of the CG ark in the CG water... ugh.
