Marvel May Give The Hulk A Third Solo Film

The Hulk didn't quite pop in either of his two previous solo outings - both films made almost exactly the same amount of money - but after The Avengers he got suddenly popular. Was it Mark Ruffalo as Science Bro Bruce Banner? Was it the fact that Joss Whedon got the appeal of the Hulk, as opposed to just the pathos? Or was it that Hulk works best in a team setting?

Whatever the case the Hulk's new popularity has Marvel Studios considering giving him a third solo outing. Talking to Digital Spy Ruffalo says:

"I think they’re, for the first time, sort of entertaining the idea of [a standalone Hulk movie]. When we did [The Avengers], it was basically ‘no.’ Now, I think, there’s some consideration for it, but nothing definitive or even a skeletal version of what it would be.”

If it's during Phase Three I pretty much guarantee it's Planet Hulk, as previously reported by Latino Review. And if there is no solo film?

“If they did Iron Man 4 and Banner’s in that, that’s be very cool,” he said. What if there's a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Banner's in that?
