Anton Chigurh May Join PIRATES 5, Hopefully Kills Jack Sparrow

Someone put that mincing drunk out of his misery, please.

There was a hot minute where it looked like Disney decided maybe they had run the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise into the ground with the abysmal fourth entry, but no - they're still making a fifth one. It was briefly mothballed but it's back in development, and the directors of Kon-Tiki - Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg - are still attached to direct. But what will happen in this latest three and a half hour visit with your increasingly irritating Uncle Jack Sparrow?

It's not clear what the plot of the film will be - early rumors had a witch and a riff on the Bermuda Triangle - but we know that it'll have a villain. And that villain could be played by Javier Bardem, who has already earned himself a spot in the all-time villain hall of fame with No Country For Old Men, where he had a hairdo that would have fit right into Pirates

That's about all we know right now, as The Wrap has reported the courting of Bardem but little else. Is Javier Bardem enough to get you excited about hours 17-22 of the Pirates of the Caribbean saga?
