See The Preview For Tina Fey’s New Netflix Comedy UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT

THE OFFICE's Ellie Kemper stars as an apocalyptic cult girl gone wild.

After NBC passed on 30 Rock producers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Netflix nabbed it and gave it a two-season order before any of us have even seen the first episode. Netflix does what it wants! Netflix don't play by the rules!

And today, Netflix released the first preview for the sitcom, in which The Office's Ellie Kemper plays a woman who has lived in an underground apocalyptic bunker her entire life, before discovering that the world's been proceeding mostly normally above her the entire time. She rises to the surface and brings her indomitable good cheer to every new challenge, like so much Brendan Fraser. It looks cute and funny, and it feels like a somewhat new role for Kemper, who usually measures her natural merriment with a little timidity. Kimmy Schmidt seems almost ill-advisedly cocksure, and I like that difference in her performance. Plus, Fey's 30 Rock pal Jane Krakowski will co-star, and Krakowski given leave to bring her glorious, clueless hauteur to any role is a good thing. Finally: D'Fwan (Tituss Burgess) is in this thing. D'Fwan is the BEST.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt premieres - all 13 episodes at once, as is the Netflix way - March 6.
