Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks And Jena Malone Join Refn’s THE NEON DEMON

If Keanu Reeves is the only man in your female-led horror movie, you are doing it right.

Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon sounded pretty swell already - a female-driven horror film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn is pretty much all we needed to know - but now it's even sweller: Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, Jena Malone and Bella Heathcote are joining Elle Fanning and Abbey Lee in the LA-set movie that starts filming March 30.

Here's what Refn said about the film back in November:

One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women. Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty. After making 'Drive' and falling madly in love with the electricity of Los Angeles, I knew I had to return to tell the story of 'The Neon Demon.' This movie is a manifestation of the strong ties between us and will lead to many more adventures.

While my first instinct is to side-eye any man who says he's dominated by women, I will give Refn a pass because he is a weirdo poet and his words never mean what they would mean if other people were saying them. And, listen, this movie is called The Neon Demon and the only announced male cast member is Keanu Reeves, so I am all-around interested in this.
