Details Revealed On ASH VS. EVIL DEAD’s Supporting Characters

While I’m certainly excited about Twin Peak’s reunion tour stuff, I’m more hesitant when it comes to Ash vs. Evil Dead, which I fear might end up being more along the Tremors TV show line. Up until now, we knew very little about the show, which made blind speculation easy. Now we’re getting some details.

First of all, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo have been cast as Ash’s buddies. Santiago is playing Pablo Simon Bolivar, a kind of sidekick guy. DeLorenzo is playing Kelly Maxwell, a… well let me just quote the press release:

Pablo Simon Bolivar is an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick—a Sancho Panza to Ash’s Don Quixote. Pablo believes in Ash’s heroism even if Ash himself doesn’t. Kelly Maxwell is a moody wild child trying to outrun her past. Reluctantly dragged into the fight against evil with Ash and Pablo, Kelly finds a different kind of family with her fellow Deadite slayers.

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. Sam Raimi will direct the first of ten episodes. He also wrote the series along with Ivan Raimi, Craig DiGregorio, and Tom Spezialy. The show will start shooting in New Zealand this spring.
