Brent Spiner To Return For INDEPENDENCE DAY 2
Remember when we all saw Independence Day in the theaters and had no idea that Data was going to show up all the sudden? (Yes, this question is only for older people.) What a wonderful moment. Now the guy has three roles that live on in our hearts: Data, weird science guy from Independence Day, and goofy singer fella. Most people of his stature only get the one thing.
Well, somehow, Brent Spiner will be back for Independence Day 2 according to Roland Emmerich’s Twitter. That’s a very strange thing to announce. For one, I didn’t think he was a character people were clamoring to see again. And two, his ass died in the first film. Oh well. It’s a movie. I guess I only assumed he died. Instead he must have lived on, hopefully to become yet another meat puppet in the sequel. I know what you guys are thinking. If Spiner can come back, can’t Randy Quaid? Please please please!
Emmerich also announced that actor Joey King would be in the film. She’s very young, so it’s doubtful she’s playing a returning character unless she’s Randy Quaid’s character reincarnated as a young girl. Please please please!
