Olivia Munn Is X-MEN:  APOCALYPSE’s Psylocke

Kind of awesome.

I think X-Men: Apocalypse is going to be a weird movie, or at least an irritating one based on how much trouble I have spelling “apocalypse.” To compound my spelling woes, the film will feature Psylocke, and now we know who will play her.

According to Bryan Jay Singer’s Instagram, Psylocke will be played by the amazing Olivia Munn. I don’t really care who she’s playing or what she’s doing, I approve.

Excited to welcome @oliviamunn as Betsy Braddock! #Psylocke #XmenApocalypse #XMEN

But for those who do care, Psylocke is a character I remember from my ‘90s X-Men days, though I never really understood what her deal was. I guess her brain shoots knives out of her hands or something like that. At some point long after I quite reading these books, she become one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, so that seems likely to factor into things. As always with these films, it’s hard to say whether Psylocke will be a major player or little more than a glorified cameo. This cast is definitely getting big, that’s for sure.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27, 2016.
