QUEEN OF EARTH: Elizabeth Moss Gets Psycho In A Retro Trailer

The next film from Alex Ross Perry, he of The Color Wheel and Listen Up Phillip, looks to be a bit of a departure for the indie filmmaker on his way to write the live action Winnie the Pooh. Starring the goddess Katherine Waterston and Elizabeth Moss, Queen of Earth is a psychological thriller that looks like it gets murderous at some point. This trailer, with its delightful voice over, is a real throwback to a 70s style (although not necessarily 70s grindhouse, as I've read it described elsewhere), but the movie looks to be a a very modern indie film with a genre bent.

That exists on a perfect continuum between painted melodrama posters of the 30s and 40s and Nigerian movie posters. I love love love it.
