Christopher McQuarrie Very Likely Returning To MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE

Good news for people who like awesome movies.

What is the value of tradition? Is it so important that you stick with it, even when a better option is looking you right in the face? According to the Mission: Impossible series, the answer is no. Tradition is stupid. Go with your gut.

Mission: Impossible’s gut tells it to stick with Christopher McQuarrie rather than bring in a bunch of new blood for its sixth movie. According to Variety, McQuarrie will return to write and very likely direct the next entry in the series.

McQuarrie, you probably remember, took care of business this summer with Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation. If he does come back, he’ll be the first director to do so. Every other time, these low men have their way with M:I and head for the hills as soon as possible. McQuarrie’s not like that. He’s a gentleman. He respects M:I for its brain.

We’ll have to see how this romance progresses, but I expect M:I to start showing any day now.
