The OFFICIAL SECRETS Cast Is No Longer A Secret

Sometimes you come to a movie for story. Sometimes you come to a movie for its cast. With the extremely generic-titled Official Secrets, you at least have one of those things.

Official Secrets will star Harrison Ford, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Martin Freeman, Natalie Dormer, and Paul Bettany. It’s a real grown-up spy movie directed by Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom’s Justin Chadwick and based on the book The Spy Who Tried to Stop a War: Katherine Gun and the Secret Plot to Sanction the Iraq Invasion. I don’t know why they went with Official Secrets, when they had a perfect title like that already tee’d up.

Spy films are actually great! Especially fancy adult ones based on true stories. This might actually have a shot at being good. Ford is playing a CIA agent, and Hopkins is playing a retired UK general, so it’ll all depend on whether or not they’re allowed to kick each other's asses a little.

Official Secrets should begin shooting this May.
