Donnie Yen To Replace Jet Li For XXX: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE

Yesterday, Vin Diesel shared an image on his Facebook page. In that photo, we see Diesel laughing and talking with Donnie Yen on the set of his new xXx movie. People who saw the image and know about the film’s cast probably thought, what the heck!? Why is Donnie Yen there?

Well, it turns out Jet Li has abruptly abandoned the film. No one knows why. But Vin Diesel’s not going to let a little thing like that get him down. He just gets on the phone and calls Donnie Yen. And of course, Donnie Yen pops in ten minutes later.

This is a huge trade up, as Donnie Yen still has tons of the onscreen charm Jet Li has been lacking lately. Plus, this means we might get to see Yen fight Tony Jaa, which would really be something. And you gotta give it to the power of Vin Diesel’s positive thinking. If Yen drops out, he’ll probably try to get Bruce Lee.
