Austin! Attend This Benefit Screening Of Jackie Chan’s THE YOUNG MASTER And Help Out An Alamo Pal
Kitty Myers and Rockie Juarez are long-time members of the Drafthouse family and tireless supporters of what we do at the Alamo, Birth.Movies.Death., Fantastic Fest and Mondo. A couple of days ago, Kitty was involved in a terrible car accident, and she's currently fighting for her life and has sustained brain injuries. Rockie and Kitty have two sons, one of whom has autism, and they need our help.
On Sunday, March 20th, the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz in downtown Austin is hosting a benefit screening of Jackie Chan's The Young Master on 35mm, with proceeds going to Kitty and Rockie to help with medical bills and childcare. At the screening, we'll have a silent auction with exclusive, covetable items from Mondo, Fantastic Fest and BMD available for purchase.
We're calling on the community to help! GET YOUR TICKETS HERE. If you can't attend and still want to help, please consider donating and/or sharing Kitty's GoFundMe page HERE.
THE YOUNG MASTER is one of Jackie Chan’s early classics, made when he was twenty-six and visibly burning with desire to show off his speed, agility, precision, and (even then highly developed) comedy chops to the world. After failing his fellow students in a Lion Dance competition, Dragon (Chan) is sent away from his school in disgrace, on the condition that he must find his errant brother. Unbelievable martial arts mayhem and mistaken-identity silliness ensue.
