Adam Sandler’s THE DO-OVER Gets A Red Band Trailer

David Spade in a three-way with Luis Guzman, guys.

It may be seriously uncool of me, but I’m always hoping for a good Adam Sandler movie. I rarely get them, of course, but every once in a while he puts out a Zohan or a That’s My Boy. It happens just enough to keep me from writing him off completely.

I don’t know where his next Netflix film, The Do-Over, lands on that spectrum. This new red band trailer doesn’t help:

That there even is a red band trailer is a good sign. I also like that Sandler’s playing a violent crazy person. On the other hand, there aren’t many real jokes presented here, and David Spade’s narration is something I want no part in. Hopefully it’s just for the trailer, but I doubt it.

There is some hope, though. The trailer has a real mean streak to it. If the movie sticks with that tone, it could be something worth watching. We’ll (more realistically, I) will just have to see when The Do-Over comes out May 27.

Oh, there’s also a poster. Look for it in theater lobbies across the land!
