Composer Podcast: Andy Hull And Robert McDowell Score SWISS ARMY MAN
We’re thrilled to announce that starting today, Birth.Movies.Death and Lakeshore Records are partnering up to present a series of composer interview podcasts that journey deep inside various composers’ processes, career choices, and creative insights.
These intimate interviews are hosted by Tony Giles of The Damn Fine Cast, a soundtrack centric podcast dedicated to the very best in films music.
The premiere interview features Andy Hull and Robert McDowell, composers for Swiss Army Man (2016) which recently opened up in theaters across the country. The score is extremely unique in that it incorporates layers of voice tracks making up the overall sound of the score. Hull and McDowell are part of the Atlanta-based indie rock band Manchester Orchestra and took a wildly creative leap when asked to compose their first feature film score.
Giles is an astute interviewer who leads you on an amazing journey through Hull and McDowell’s creative journey while intercutting various snippets of the score and songs throughout.
We’re happy to be premiering these interview podcasts and look forward to bringing you many more in the near future. Enjoy!
