Here’s Our First Look At Guy Ritchie’s KING ARTHUR Movie

Yeah, remember that?

Hey, remember when Guy Ritchie was making a King Arthur movie?

Well, it's still happening! It's got a new title, King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword (woof), and has apparently undergone some changes over the course of the last year, but this is still a movie you will eventually be able to see in theaters. Entertainment Weekly's got some new photos that prove it.

Let's take a look.

First up: Charlie Hunnam's King Arthur. Doesn't look much like royalty, but apparently that's what Ritchie and company are going for here. Asked to describe the character, Hunnam says:

“He’s a bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor. There’s definitely a harder edge than people would imagine.”

Secondly: Jude Law as Vortigern. From the sounds of things, he's going to be Arthur's main adversary.

As the murderer of his brother and Arthur’s dad Uther Pendragon (Eric Bana) and the usurper of the throne, Vortigern has done more than enough to earn his nephew’s wrath, but backing him is a set of deadly magical powers that give him the upper hand.

This entire thing is being pitched as "King Arthur meets Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels", a formula that's worked for both Warner Bros. and Guy Ritchie in the past (see also: Sherlock Holmes). Will it work here? No idea, but I'm certainly curious to see what this thing looks like in action.

The long-delayed King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword arrives March 24th. We'll have more updates as developments occur.
