The Septemburton BIRTH.MOVIES.DEATH. Mag Features Exclusive Tim Burton Cover Art!

Burton himself drew our cover!

This was an idea that got thrown around in a meeting a couple of months ago - what if we got Tim Burton to do the cover art for our Tim Burton issue of BIRTH.MOVIES.DEATH. magazine? And now, three months later, here we are... with a magazine that features an exclusive Tim Burton cover! And more exclusive Tim Burton art within the pages!

The Alamo Drafthouse has renamed next month into Septemburton, and they're showing Tim Burton classics all month. Knowing a great idea when we see one, BMD's September issue is dedicated to the filmmaker, covering his career from his earliest shorts all the way up to Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, with stops along the way for Danny Elfman, an exclusive interview with A Nightmare Before Christmas director Henry Selick, a look at sex (or the lack thereof) in Burton's filmography, an appreciation of Planet of the Apes as the last gasp of practical make-up FX, a celebration of Edward Scissorhands as a universal anthem for weirdos, an argument that Batman Returns is the most Tim Burton movie ever... and much more! Including original Burton art available only in the magazine!

It's available for pre-order right now. You can also purchase it at selected Alamo Drafthouse theaters when you buy tickets for their Septemburton retrospective films

As always, this issue is gonna be gorgeous. I think anyone who has purchased a copy of BMD knows that our design team goes above and beyond with the look of the mag, and the Tim Burton issue will be no different. Check out some of these spreads (we'll be sharing more pages in the weeks to come):
