Adam Driver Gets Dramatic In First Poster for Jim Jarmusch’s PATERSON

Even asleep, this dude needs to take a chill pill.

The world should probably start getting excited for Paterson, the new film from Jim Jarmusch which finds the often quietly hilarious, idiosyncratic filmmaker teaming with Adam Driver. To help that goal along, Entertainment Weekly has released the film’s first poster:

I suppose in the context of the film the text on the poster (the text you can read, I mean) probably sounds genuine and romantic. Without that context, however, “If you ever left me I’d tear my heart out and never put it back” sounds like the kind of thing you’d see some loser @replay Amy Adams.

I’m willing to give this poster the benefit of the doubt, however, as this is a Jarmusch film and he deserves some faith. One assumes a trailer should be following this poster soon. They’re probably in no rush though, as the film doesn’t come out until December 28.
