The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN TELL NO TALES Teaser Is Creepy At Least

There hasn’t been a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie since 2011. I’m not sure I actually know anyone who saw On Stranger Tides, but it managed to be a huge hit anyway. I’m probably also very wrong when I assume few care about this new one coming out next year, Dead Man Tell No Tales. Just in case, here is the teaser:

As you can see, we’ve been spared Jack Sparrow nonsense. I don’t know if the twerp behind bars is the twerp from part four, but I do know Javier Bardem and his crew of fucked up zombies at least keep this series firmly in the “Why aren’t these rated R, again?” category. So that’s something. I got tired of Jack Sparrow a long time ago, but I always admired the way the first three films really went all out when it came to grimy unpleasantness.

Will new directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg redeem the series, or at least offer a movie that isn’t just a soulless cash grab? We’ll just have to wait and see. I honestly don’t hate this teaser, so that’s something.
