SPOILERS: Michael Fassbender’s Gonna Have More Screentime Than We Thought In ALIEN: COVENANT

Again: don't read this if you wanna remain unspoiled.

Each new day seems to bring us a new piece of information about Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. Today, we're getting two new pieces of information. This morning, we informed you which Prometheus cast member is making an unexpected comeback, and now we're back with another piece of the Alien: Covenant puzzle.

In a new interview with the Irish Times (which has been screencapped by the good folks over at AVP Galaxy), Michael Fassbender has revealed that he'll be playing not one, but two androids in Alien: Covenant. One is David, his character from Prometheus, and another is named Walter. Here's the quote:

“I am allowed to say I am playing two robots – Walter and David. I think what’s great about it is that Ridley has gone back to the original DNA of Alien, the horror element of that. But is also has the scope and the scale of Prometheus. Ridley has cut it already. He is a machine. He is an incredible human being and he was in such good form. He is such an imaginative and mischievous figure.”

AVP Galaxy, always willing to go the extra mile when it comes to scooping the everloving shit out of Alien: Covenant, provides a bit more context:

"(We) can also also tell you that Walter is not a fan of David. Walter is a more advanced and up-to-date version of the David model. He is distrustful of David 8 because the older model has gone without any form of maintenance or upgrades during the ten year interval he has been in isolation between the Prometheus incident and the Covenant crew making landfall on the supposed paradise planet that Alien: Covenant takes place on."

I have yet to get my hands on a copy of the Alien: Covenant script (Dear Santa, this is all I want for Christmas), but having followed these tiny leaks over the past few months I'm starting to get a clearer picture of what this film's going to be like ... and honestly, I'm tremendously excited. Perhaps this really will be the Alien movie so many people wanted Prometheus to be.

What do you guys think? Like the idea of duelling Fassbenders or nah? Please show your work in the space below.
