The Next CLOVERFIELD Movie Just Got Bumped From February To October
Five minutes ago, this is what we knew about God Particle: it has a killer cast (including David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Daniel Brühl and Chris O’Dowd), it's the next film in Bad Robot's recently-reinvigorated Cloverfield franchise, and it's coming out on February 24th, 2017.
Now, five minutes later, we have learned that all of those things remain true, save for one: God Particle is not going to hit that February release date. According to The Playlist, it's just been bumped to October 27th, 2017, where it will go up against another Saw sequel no one is clamoring for.
You'll recall that God Particle concerns a group of astronauts who encounter something mysterious and disturbing while out making their astronaut rounds. We don't know much about the plot beyond that, but we do know that it'll all tie into the Cloverfield mythology, which got a bit of an expansion earlier this year in the excellent 10 Cloverfield Lane. I'm guessing aliens are involved, but what do I know? Nothing, that's what.
Anyway, adjust your calendars and expectations accordingly, folks. We'll be waiting for this one a little longer than expected.
