Paramount Removes WORLD WAR Z and FRIDAY THE 13TH Sequels From Its Schedule

Pour one out for Jason Vorhees and Brad Pitt.

According to a press release issued by the studio, Paramount has pulled sequels for World War Z and Friday The 13th off its 2017 schedule. The former had long been dated for June of this year, while the latter was due in October. In Friday The 13th's place, we'll now be getting Darren Aronofsky's mother!, starring Jennifer Lawrence.

No reason was given for the change, which means speculation is likely to run rampant in the days ahead. Maybe the studio couldn't find a script it liked. Maybe they couldn't find the right directors. Maybe sequels to World War Z and Friday The 13th just aren't a huge priority anymore. Whatever the case may be, it's probably safe to assume both films are dead until we hear otherwise.

How do you guys feel about this? Were you looking forward to another World War Z? Are you really interested in seeing the Friday The 13th franchise lumber on for another few years? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for updates on these if and when they roll in.
