TICKLED Is Coming To HBO With A Brand-New Follow-Up Special

February 27th, folks. Mark your calendars.

David Farrier's Tickled was hands down one of the best documentaries of 2016, a fascinating and disturbingly funny pilgrimage to the dark heart of competitive tickling. If memory serves, the doc ended up on several BMD staffers' top ten lists (it made my honorable mentions), and deserves to be sought out by every last one of you.

And hey, good news for those of you with HBO: you won't have to do much searching at all! Tickled hits HBO on February 27th, and get this: it's going to premiere alongside a brand-new, 20-minute follow-up special.

Here's how IndieWire's describing the special:

The Tickle King is billed as “an exclusive 20-minute follow-up for HBO NOW, HBO GO and HBO On Demand” and “features new, previously unseen footage documenting the bizarre and unsettling things that happen to filmmakers David Farrier and Dylan Reeve as the documentary premieres at film festivals and theaters in 2016. Lawsuits, private investigators, disrupted screenings and surprise appearances are just part of what they encounter along the way. Amidst new threats, the duo begins to answer questions that remained once the credits rolled on Tickled, including whether the disturbing behavior they uncovered will ever come to an end.”

Speaking as someone who would happily watch a weekly Tickled series (believe it or not, there is much weird shit to explore in the world of competitive tickling), I'm delighted to hear we're getting something of a followup. Let the record show that I will always be there for updates on this bizarre saga.

Tickled and its follow-up, The Tickle King, will premiere on HBO February 27th. Set your DVRs, folks. You won't be disappointed.
