Yeah, Sure, Keanu Reeves Would Go Back To THE MATRIX, Why Not

Or we could just keep making JOHN WICKs forever and ever, amen.

In a new interview with Yahoo! Movies UK, John Wick: Chapter 2 star Keanu Reeves non-committally suggests that, sure, what the hell, he'd be interested in returning to the Matrix franchise, maybe, we'll see.

Asked what it would take to get him involved, Reeves says:

The Wachowskis would have to be involved. They would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not? People die, stories don’t, people in stories don’t.

We are agreed across the board with Keanu here: any Matrix sequel would, in fact, need to have the Wachowskis writing and directing; the story would have to be worthwhile (one suspects this would be the biggest hurdle); and no, neither stories nor the people within them die, only people die.

Look, would a return to the Matrix well be the worst thing ever? I dunno. Would I much prefer that the same amount of time, energy and money instead be diverted to an endless supply of John Wick sequels - perhaps as many as one per month - for the foreseeable future? Yes, absolutely.
