Colin Farrell May Be Headed For Tim Burton’s DUMBO

Didn't see this one coming.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Lobster's Colin Farrell is currently in negotiations to join Tim Burton's Dumbo, one of the next Disney animated classics to get a live-action retelling.

THR's report doesn't say which role Farrell might be playing (it could be an entirely new character, as this take is said to "expand and deepen the circus aspect of the story"), but one assumes that it's the same role Will Smith recently toyed with before walking away from the job.

Already cast are Burton favorites Eva Green and Danny DeVito, and what we imagine will be a large number of overly-complicated visual effects, many of which will be - in the grand Tim Burton tradition - both whimsical and midly disturbing.

Stay tuned for more on Dumbo as it becomes available.
