Josh Boone’s NEW MUTANTS Has Found Its Danielle Moonstar

Blu Hunt joins Josh Boone's horror-tinged X-movie.

Another day, another casting announcement regarding Josh Boone's New Mutants.

Earlier this week we learned that two Netflix stars - Charlie Heaton and Henry Zaga - were coming onboard the production as Cannonball and Sunspot (respectively), and now we know who'll be playing New Mutants' version of Danielle Moonstar.

Take it away, Variety:

"Blu Hunt has been cast as Danielle Moonstar in Fox’s X-Men spinoff New Mutants.

She joins Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, and Henry Zaga in the movie with Josh Boone directing. Rosario Dawson has been in negotiations. The project will focus on mutant teens learning to cope with their superpowers who must escape a secret facility."

If you're anything like me, you have no idea who either Blu Hunt or Danielle Moonstar are. If so, here's some handy information: Blu Hunt is an up-and-coming actress who appeared in both This Is It and The CW's The Originals. As for Dani Moonstar, Variety says she's "a Native American who has the power to create illusions drawn from the fears and desires of a person’s mind." Right on!

We've probably got a few more casting announcements to go before New Mutants' roster is completely full, so stay tuned for those as they roll in.
