THE NEW MUTANTS Lives, And There’s A New Trailer To Prove It
I looked it up, and the first trailer post we ran for Josh Boone's The New Mutants arrived in October of 2017. Given that the year is now 2020 and The New Mutants is still on its way to theaters, it probably goes without saying that this one had a rocky journey to the big screen. Rumors of studio meddling, complications from the big 20th Century Fox/Disney merger, and more seem to have kept this one in limbo for a long, long time, but now - at long last! - it appears an end might truly be in sight.
As you can see, today brings us the first new New Mutants trailer in a long, long time. The trailer itself isn't all that different from the one we ran back in 2017 - they're even using the same needle-drop! - but it does look pretty cool, and that April 3rd release date at the very end is encouraging. Looks like this one's really gonna hit theaters this time!
Here's an official plot synopsis, should you require one:
"Twentieth Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment presents The New Mutants, an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive. Directed by Josh Boone and written by Josh Boone & Knate Lee, The New Mutants stars: Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga."
