Composer Podcast: Jeff Russo Scores LEGION

LEGION is a hit! Let's partially blame composer Jeff Russo.

There are legions of Legion (2017) fans congregating weekly to enjoy Noah Hawley’s newest science fiction series currently broadcast on FX. The show centers around the popular X-Men character Legion, who is really David Haller, a mutant diagnosed with schizophrenia. The first season consisting of eight-episodes has been available since January of 2017 and a second season will be on its way next year.

The music is composed by Jeff Russo who also penned scores for the hit television series Fargo (2014-2017), and American Gothic (2016). Tony Giles of The Damn Fine Cast has produced another behind-the-music podcast where he goes one-one-one with Russo to discuss some of the gritty details behind scoring Legion

Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the soundtrack were released digitally by Lakeshore Records and a limited edition pink-marbled vinyl soundtrack was also released.

Legion fans are in for a treat, and if you haven’t yet seen the series, perhaps this gets you on board. Enjoy!
