The Skin-Crawling First Trailer For GERALD’S GAME Is Here

Ahead of its Fantastic Fest debut, here's the trailer for the next big screen Stephen King adaptation.

We've been chomping at the bit to see Mike Flanagan's Gerald's Game (based on the deeply freaky Stephen King novel of the same name) ever since it was announced, and we're thrilled to be just a few weeks away from experiencing the film at this year's Fantastic Fest.

And now we've got the first trailer.

From the looks of things, Flanagan and company have remained very faithful to the source material ... which, as you might expect from the premise, gets exceptionally dark as King's novel goes along. It's not just that Jessie Burlingame (Carla Gugino) is left handcuffed to a bed in the middle of nowhere once her husband (Bruce Greenwood) keels over, and it's not just the menacing figure who may or may not be watching her struggle from a darkened corner of the room. This story is pitch black, through and through.

So, obviously, we can't wait to see what's been done with it. As previously mentioned, Gerald's Game hits Fantastic Fest in just a few weeks, and will arrive on Netflix shortly thereafter (September 29th, to be precise).
