Los Angeles: Win Tickets To See Kane Hodder In TO HELL AND BACK

Bonus: BC will moderate a Q&A with the horror icon after the film!

Kane Hodder has murdered probably over a hundred people onscreen, but most of his movie maniacs have been silent - his actual voice is rarely heard in the films he's best known for (one rare exception - his bit part as one of the guards in Jason Goes to Hell). Tonight you'll get a chance to hear him at length, however - he will be present for the premiere of To Hell And Back: The Kane Hodder Story, a documentary that features Hodder as well as many of his fellow modern horror icons, like Robert Englund, Bruce Campbell, and Cassandra Peterson. The screening is at 7pm tonight, October 17th at the TCL Chinese theater in Hollywood, showing as part of the annual Screamfest Film Festival, and we would like to send one lucky BMD reader (and a guest) to the show!

Now, you might think that a Kane Hodder documentary would be 90 minutes of him talking about his crazy stunts and kill scenes with accompanying footage, but this goes a lot deeper than that. For anyone who has read his biography Unmasked, you'd know his story is a fascinating and downright scary one at times. The film's synopsis is as follows:

To Hell and Back is the harrowing story of a stuntman overcoming a dehumanizing childhood filled with torment and bullying in Sparks, Nevada. After surviving a near-death burn accident, he worked his way up through Hollywood, leading to his ultimate rise as Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th series and making countless moviegoers forever terrified of hockey masks and summer camp. After decades of watching Kane Hodder on screen, get ready to meet the man behind the mask in To Hell and Back – an uniquely human story about one of cinema’s most vicious monsters.

To enter, all you have to do (besides be able to get to Los Angeles tonight by 7pm) is let us know in the comments below: what is your all time favorite Kane Hodder kill? Was it something from the Friday the 13th movies he was in (that would be parts 7-X, by the way - and be careful with JGTH!)? Maybe one of his Hatchet kills? Or are you gonna go with a deep cut, like one of the eye gougings in Exit 33? In the spirit of celebrating his lengthy resume I welcome replies by people who can't go, but please note somewhere whether or not you want the tickets or are just adding your favorite kills for fun. Winner will be notified by 4pm PST, so get your replies in quick! If you didn't win but want to go, you can buy tickets here

And if you're the winner you are obligated* to stick around after the movie for a Q&A with Kane, moderated by yours truly. Kane is the very first horror celebrity I ever met (at a signing when I was 13) and therefore it still makes me giddy whenever I get a chance to talk to him, so I'm quite excited and honored to be a part of the event. And I'm gonna wear my Jason Takes Manhattan T-shirt, because I love that one, "More time on the boat" be damned.

*Not really. Do what you gotta do.
