TWIN PEAKS: A LIMITED EVENT SERIES Blu-Ray To Offer More Than Scenic Views
A watercooler show when it aired on ABC in the early ‘90s, Twin Peaks was masterfully resurrected by David Lynch & Mark Frost and billed as a limited series event when it aired on Showtime in 2017. One of BMD’s favorite television programs this year, Twin Peaks looks to be one of the must-have stocking stuffers this holiday season.
Showtime Networks, CBS Home Entertainment, and Paramount Home Media are definitely not short-changing fans of the enigmatic series. In addition to the eighteen “parts” of the limited event series, both Blu-ray and DVD releases will include "IMPRESSIONS: A Journey Behind the Scenes of Twin Peaks". This series of short films from Lynch documentarian Jason S. peers further into the making of the show, capturing the master filmmaker at work. The collections will also include the one-hour San Diego Comic-Con panel discussion, moderated by Damon Lindelof; photo gallery and Rancho Rosa logos; show promos and, lastly, "Phenomenon", a three-part featurette where cast and crew look back at the legacy of Twin Peaks.
For the die-hard fans, the Blu-ray collection is an absolute must as it will have deluxe packaging and three additional short docs: two from indie filmmaker Richard Beymer (“Behind the Red Curtain”, “I Had Bad Milk in Dehradun”) as well as Charles DeLaurzirika, who has produced video documentaries for Ridley Scott, plus "Secrets from Another Place: Creating Twin Peaks" (found in the original DVD and Blu-ray Twin Peaks box sets). You can get your copy December 5.
