Here’s Our First Look At JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM’s (Dinosaur TBD)

We're not sure what kind of dino that is, but it doesn't look friendly.

As revealed by the good folks over at Entertainment Weekly, here's our very first look at one of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's new dinosaurs. It looks big and ferocious and like it's probably made out of pixels.

Please look upon it now.

We're not quite sure what kind of dinosaur this is, exactly (our resident Jurassic Park expert, Amelia Emberwing, theorizes that this is one of the dinosaurs InGen was alleged to be building for war; managing editor Evan Saathoff suggests this might be "a fire dinosaur", which is definitely not a thing), but it certainly looks like it belongs in a Jurassic Park movie.

Anyway, EW's got a few new plot details, as well:

"Directed by J.A. Bayona, the sequel — set several years after 2015’s billion-dollar smash Jurassic World — concerns a volcano on Isla Nublar that threatens the dinosaurs that had overrun the park at the end of the previous film. Who has the best shot at preventing the prehistoric beasts from becoming extinct (again)? That would be Chris Pratt’s dino trainer Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s former park manager Claire Dearing."

The BMD staff is currently locked in a fierce debate as to whether or not this plot makes any sense (Why are they trying to save the dangerous dinosaurs? If said dinosaurs were to go "extinct", could they not just make more? Is this a volcano disaster movie on top of a marauding dinosaurs movie?), and it seems like we're gonna be at it for some time. While we're sorting through our feelings, let us know what you think about Jurassic World 2's new dino (and that plot synopsis!) in the comments below.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom arrives on June 22nd.
